RESCUED CATS TOO WEAK TO EAT
In 1995 we rescued two kittens from a breeder.
They came to us undersized and weak. They
were 3-4 months old and they fit in my hand.
Garfield, an orange hybrid Himalayan, had an
upper respiratory infection and was too weak to
go in and out of the litter box. We rinsed him off
5 times to get all the dust out of his coat. Frisky,
a gray Persian, also had an upper respiratory
infection but was a bit stronger and would bring
pieces of food to Garfield. They both had
ringworm on their ears and tails.
We isolated them in the downstairs powder room
and began to give them the antibiotics and
ringworm meds that were prescribed by our
veterinarian. We also started to give them friendly
bacteria and an organic whole food powder which
contained a little of everything they needed to
